Chopan is a town and a nagar panchayat in Sonbhadra district in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India.

Demographics

As of 2001[update] India census,[2] Chopan had a population of 12,131. Males constitute 55% of the population and females 45%. Chopan has an average literacy rate of 69%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with male literacy of 77% and female literacy of 59%. 14% of the population is under 6 years of age.
